MK Gourmet Kitchen Opens New Restaurant at The Dolphin in Poole

A familiar name to local burger fans has found a permanent home at The Dolphin, with a menu that stretches from breakfast through to dinner.

If you’ve come across MK Gourmet Kitchen’s burgers, loaded fries or wraps in Corfe Mullen, there’s a new place to find them. The family-run business has opened its first restaurant in Poole town centre, on the ground floor of The Dolphin opposite Primark. 

Khaled and his wife started MK Gourmet Kitchen as a mobile kitchen in 2022. Four years on, their move to Poole gives customers a place to sit down for a meal as well as pick up something on the go. The couple have closed their Corfe Mullen mobile site to focus on the new restaurant. 

What’s on the menu?

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, alongside coffee and snacks. Its homemade burgers, loaded fries and wraps carry over from the mobile kitchen, while the wider menu includes paninis and focaccia sandwiches. That makes it a useful new option for a quick bite during a shopping trip, a coffee catch-up or a more leisurely meal in town. 

For Khaled, who has worked in hospitality for more than 20 years, opening a restaurant has been a long-held ambition. The couple spent a year looking for the right location before choosing The Dolphin. Their arrival adds another independent name to a centre whose food choices have been growing alongside its shops and community spaces.
