Poole u3a is a large learning and social organisation for people who are no longer in full-time employment. Based at The Spire in Poole town centre, it has more than 900 members and offers over 80 informal classes alongside walks, talks, day trips and social activities. Members can explore interests ranging from languages and history to music, fitness, crafts and technology, while meeting new people in a relaxed, supportive environment with no exams or qualifications.

The office is in Community Room 5 on the first floor, which can be reached by stairs or lift. Pay-and-display parking is available behind The Spire, and the Morebus Route One stops opposite.
Poole u3a was formed in 1993 and now has more than 900 members. It is part of the wider u3a movement, which encourages people who are no longer working full-time to continue learning, share their knowledge and develop new friendships.
Classes are informal and member-led, with no examinations, entry qualifications or formal awards.

Members can also take part in talks, organised walks, day trips and other social events. Activities are held at different venues across Poole rather than solely at The Spire.
Membership is open to people who are no longer in full-time employment. There is no fixed minimum age, although Poole u3a particularly serves the growing number of people aged over 50.
Members are encouraged to participate at their own pace and may also volunteer to lead a group or share specialist knowledge.
Membership for the 2026-27 academic year is £20, with an additional charge for each selected class depending on venue costs. Some groups may also request small contributions towards materials or equipment.
Applications can be completed online or submitted by post to the Poole u3a office. Popular classes may operate waiting lists, so early enrolment is recommended.
