About Poole Town Cricket Club

The present club was formed in 1992 following the merger of Poole Cricket Club and Poole Old Grammarians Cricket Club. It later adopted the Poole Town Cricket Club name and has developed into one of the larger cricket clubs in Dorset, with opportunities for recreational and competitive players.

Teams and Cricket Opportunities

The club’s current website lists:

  • Five Saturday adult teams
  • A midweek evening-league team

Home fixtures take place at several grounds depending on the team and age group.

Women’s and Girls’ Cricket

Women of all ages can join the club’s softball and hardball sections. Summer training normally takes place at Poole Grammar School, with indoor cricket and training also offered during winter.

Girls aged six and above can join a dedicated programme of coaching, training and matches. The club describes its girls’ section as one of the largest in the county.

Junior Cricket

Junior sessions are available across several age groups, from All Stars and Dynamos through to older youth teams. Training is led by ECB-qualified coaches and focuses on developing skills in a safe, friendly environment while helping children enjoy the game.

New adult, women’s and junior players are encouraged to contact Poole Town Cricket Club before attending. The club can provide current details about suitable teams, training times, registration and membership charges.

Players representing the club in the Dorset League must complete the appropriate seasonal registration.
