Poole Runners is a friendly running and athletics club welcoming beginners, experienced runners and junior athletes. The club offers social runs, road running, track and field, speed sessions, cross-country and longer-distance training. Its main adult club night takes place in Broadstone, with additional sessions held around Poole and at Ashdown Track. Beginners can also look out for the club’s seasonal Couch to 5K programme.
Poole Runners combines coached training with a sociable club atmosphere. Members can train recreationally, improve their fitness or represent the club in road races, cross-country and track-and-field competitions.
Training is supported by a team of qualified coaches and run leaders, with sessions available across different ages, distances and ability levels.
The club’s weekly programme can include:
The club also organises events including the Poole Festival of Running, Upton Summer Series and Broadstone Quarter Marathon.

Adult sessions cater for runners with different levels of experience, from people progressing beyond Couch to 5K to regular competitive runners.
Junior athletics is available for children and teenagers. The QuadKids section introduces children aged eight to 11 to running, jumping and throwing, while the under-18 section provides more specialised athletics coaching.
The main adult club night is held on Wednesdays at The Junction Sports and Leisure Centre in Broadstone. Runners meet ready to start at 6.45pm and choose from groups covering different paces and distances.
Other sessions take place throughout the week, including track training at Ashdown Leisure Centre, speed work, junior athletics and Sunday long runs. Training arrangements may change, so new runners should check the current weekly schedule before attending.

Poole Runners offers a seasonal Couch to 5K course in Poole Park, designed for people who are new to running. The gradual programme combines running, fitness work and support from club leaders and previous participants.
Prospective members can also contact the club before attending another session to discuss which group would be most suitable.
New members can apply through the official website. Membership options are available for competitive runners, social members, families and juniors, although fees and registration periods can change.
Anyone wishing to try a session should contact the membership team or message the club through its official Facebook page beforehand.
