Poole Park Bowling Club is a friendly lawn bowls club set beside the lake in Poole Park. Open to experienced players, complete beginners and members of the public, the club offers social and competitive outdoor bowls, short mat bowls, coaching and free seasonal taster sessions. The club has designated parking, a nearby bus stop and a clubhouse providing refreshments. It is situated just over a mile from Poole town centre.
The club has two outdoor bowling greens, each with six rinks, and welcomes people who want to play socially or competitively. Men and women can take part in club competitions, local leagues and friendly fixtures, while the clubhouse also supports an active social programme.
Members of the public can play without joining the club. Shoes, bowls and introductory tuition can be provided, although flat-soled footwear must be worn on the green.
The club also runs free Thursday-evening taster sessions from early May and four-week coaching programmes for players who want to develop their technique. Advance registration is recommended for organised sessions.
