Poole’s New Year’s Day Bath Tub Race: 1 January 2026 | Poole Quay
Poole begins the year with one of its most unusual traditions. Teams race homemade floating vessels along the Quay while spectators gather beside the harbour to watch the inevitable thrills, spills and attempted sabotage. The charity event ran from 9am, with the race beginning at 11am.

Poole celebrates its famous local pirate Harry Paye with a day of free entertainment on the Quay. Expect a pirate parade, sea shanties, cannon fire, children’s competitions, historic displays, rides and plenty of visitors dressed for the occasion.
This free multicultural festival celebrates South Asian arts, food and heritage. The 2026 programme ran from 10am until 7pm and included live performances, dancing, cultural showcases, food stalls, crafts, henna and family activities.
Poole Quay hosts two days of folk music, Morris dancing and family entertainment. The free programme runs from 11am until 6pm and includes live performances, children’s rides, arcades and face painting.
Themed car evenings bring a different collection of vehicles to Poole Quay each Friday during July and August. Owners display their cars beside the harbour while spectators can explore the line-up and visit the surrounding restaurants and bars. Events generally run from 6pm until 9pm.
SandFest is an adult-oriented boutique music festival held directly on Sandbanks Beach. The event combines major DJs and live acts with bars, food traders and a large beachside arena. The confirmed 2026 festival ran from midday until 10pm.

The Festival of Wellbeing forms part of Poole’s summer programme, bringing together health, relaxation and wellbeing-related activities. The exact venue and complete programme should be taken from the official event listing.
The historic steamship Shieldhall visits Poole Quay for an open day, giving the public an opportunity to see a preserved working steamship alongside the waterfront.
